L'herbari que va arribar a l'Arxiu està format per 101 exemplars de plantes, però segons Miret (2019) l'herbari original va arribar a tenir més de 3.900 espècies. A la tapa del lligall que conté l'herbari consta escrit a mà: And. Malgá VI. Aquesta xifra romana dona peu a suposar que hi havia més volums així com el número que Malgà va escriure a la camisa dels plecs.
